17th Street Neighbors: Our Japanese Community

Alan O’Hashi presents the history of the Japanese community along 17th Street during the early 20th century in Cheyenne. To follow is a walking tour showcasing various physical locations and how they have changed, based on stories and memories. Participants must be ready to walk and learn! In the event of inclement weather, the tour portion will be rescheduled to a later date.
Historic Churches in Downtown Cheyenne

Come hear how many of our Cheyenne Churches were started, some dating back to the inception of Cheyenne as a City in 1867! These structures not only laid the foundation of our community but also of our physical City. Historic Preservation Board member Stephanie Lowe will lead a guided walking tour showcasing each location and its contribution to our Cheyenne History. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk and learn!
Livin’ It Up in Downtown!

Tour several downtown and surrounding locations, both finished and unfinished. Locations range from studio and 1-bedroom apartments, lofts, and Penthouses.        Additionally, the infamous Irwin Barn will be included as a showcase for a multi-use facility.
Saloons and Prohibition: How Beverages shaped our local West!

Take part in a unique tour that will showcase several structures that historically housed some of our famous downtown dining/drinking establishments. Along the way, learn how our indulgent past shaped our downtown and how it has changed through the years. Plan to stop at four locations to partake in a tasty beverage, leaving your mark on Cheyenne’s history!
Participants must be 21 years or older to participate. Please plan on comfortable shoes/clothing, and please drink responsibly. Uber and cab information will be provided to encourage safety when your evening is done!
