Call for Artists
We look forward to continuing to beautify and enrich the downtown of Cheyenne. Thank you for being part of helping create a dynamic, engaging community.
As part of the Downtown Development Authority’s new pocket park, we have wooden picnic tables available for local artists to decorate. The first has already been painted by local artist Joshua Brady of Dirty Hands Art Workshop featuring images of many different faces and people.
We are now seeking artists to paint and seal the rest of the tables. The parameters for this project are as follows:
- The content must all be family friendly and appropriate for all ages
- No political or religious content
- No divisive messages– this park is intended to unify the community
At the end of the season, these tables will be auctioned off. The first $800 raised from the auction will be held in reserve to buy more tables next year for the park. Funds above and beyond that will be used for the downtown art scene, for more urban art, and to help with next year’s Paint Slingers festival.
If you are interested in being part of this community beautification project, please email Amber Ash, the DDA’s executive director, before August 5. In this email, please include how we can reach you and a sketch of how you would like to decorate a table. If more than five submissions are received, the DDA will have voting on the submissions by board members and staff.
We look forward to continuing to beautify and enrich the downtown of Cheyenne. Thank you for being part of helping create a dynamic, engaging community.
