Meet the Staff of the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority

The Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is introducing its current staff, including two recent additions to the organization. Each team member brings a different professional background and experience to the DDA’s work in downtown Cheyenne. The following introductions provide an overview of their roles, experience, and perspectives on the Downtown District.
DDA Executive Director, Brandon Unruh
Brandon Unruh serves as the Executive Director of the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority, bringing leadership experience in municipal government and downtown revitalization to the role. Prior to joining the DDA, Brandon spent four years as Community Development Director for the Town of Kersey, Colorado, where he specialized in recreation programming, project management, event coordination, and grant administration.

In his current role as Executive Director, Brandon collaborates with community partners to help champion and support ongoing growth in Cheyenne’s historic core. He works under the direction of the City’s Community Recreation and Events department and alongside the DDA Board of Directors to spearhead strategic redevelopment, protect and renew downtown properties, and implement capital improvement projects.

Passionate about the history and life in the West, Brandon and his family are incredibly excited to relocate to the Cheyenne area. They have quickly fallen in love with the vibrant downtown district with its historic architecture and vibrant art.

Cheyenne DDA Operations and Grants Manager, Katie Robertson.

Katie Robertson serves as the Operations & Grants Manager of the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority. She brings valuable experience from her time with the Cheyenne Building Department where she served as a permit technician. Through this role, she developed an understanding of city processes, permitting and licensing, and developed good relationships with many of the people and contractors throughout Cheyenne.

Katie looks forward to bringing that experience to her new role and being a part of the continued growth and revitalization of downtown Cheyenne. In her role, Katie will manage the DDA programs, maintain grant records, ensure compliance for financial records, work with the downtown community on grant programs, and more.

One of the things Katie loves most about downtown Cheyenne is the history. She looks forward to being a part of a community that values its history as well as continuing to build an exciting future for downtown Cheyenne.

Cheyenne DDA Communications and Engagement Coordinator, Miya DeBusk.

Miya DeBusk serves as the Communications & Engagement Coordinator for the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority, where she has been part of the organization since July 2024. Her background includes both in-person and virtual fashion styling, small business development, and marketing and communications, bringing a diverse range of experience to her role.

In her current position, Miya supports the DDA’s communications and outreach efforts, helping share information about downtown initiatives, projects, programs, and opportunities with the community. Through marketing, storytelling, and community engagement, she works to keep the public informed and connected to the ongoing work of the DDA.

One of Miya’s favorite things about downtown Cheyenne is its historic architecture. With so many unique buildings, stories, and details throughout the district, she enjoys that there is always something new to discover and learn about downtown.
